In troubled times - where do you run? - Pastor Justin Miles
Wednesday Night Prayer Meeting – Pastor Justin Miles
Psalms 119: 153-160
Eternal Faithfulness (confirmed)
David Spent much of his life surrounded by those seeking to do him harm
His delight was in God’s law.
Songs he could sing – didn’t have these song sheets to carry around
v. 153 I haven’t forgotten your law – not that he could always keep it
v. 154 Preserve me according to your promise – not because David deserved it (2 Samuel 7:11-16)
v. 155 The wicked don’t see any need to seek God’s law or to follow it – so they also won’t be saved
(Lamentations 5:1) Where do they turn when they are in trouble?
v. 156 God’s mercy is great
v. 157 I am persecuted but I remain faithful
v. 158 The other Israelite are faithless and treacherous and don’t obey your laws
vv. 159-160 Your words are true and eternal
How we should pray – Remember God’s law; His promise, His decrees, His Word, His love and His eternal laws are unchanging
Ps 46:10 (To meditate on during the current Corona Virus health crisis)
Be still and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth.
